A draft law “On Mining in the Russian Federation” was submitted to the State Duma.

The main provisions of the draft law on mining:

– regulates relations related to the generation of digital currency;

– contains the definition of a mining pool, a mining operator;

– provides for the maintenance of a register of mining participants;

– mining is the issue, generation of digital currency in the Russian Federation, i.e. the activity using the facilities of the Russian information infrastructure, <…> which results in the creation of digital currency, in particular, the maintenance of a distributed register and generation of digital currencies and their blocks, validation of transactions in the register;

– individuals have the right to engage in mining, provided they register as an individual entrepreneur or self-employed person and register in the Register of Mining Participants, if the electricity they consume exceeds the limits established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
