The EU Council has approved the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act.

The new law aims to promote the development and deployment of safe and secure AI systems in the EU single market by both private and public actors.

At the same time, it aims to ensure respect for the fundamental rights of EU citizens and stimulate AI investment and innovation in Europe.

The document spells out clear requirements and obligations for neural network developers. The law also envisages the creation of AI risk management structures.
